Coca-Cola have signed a 12 month partnership with Transport for London involving the provision of live tube service updates every 5 minutes via a ticker tape on Coca-Cola’s iconic Piccadilly Circus screen.

Glaceau Vitamin Water’s personalised messaging campaign on Transvision rail station screen was recently extended after Coca-Cola proposed applying the technology to their giant LED screen at Piccadilly Circus. (Click here for previous story).

JC Decaux have had approval to install 168 new screens at London Heathrow Airport. There will be 3 different formats :
- digital escalator panels (terminals 1 & 4)
- lift screens, 4 per lift (terminals 1-5)
- walkway link containing 15 x 32″ LCD displays (terminals 2 & 3)
If all goes to plan the screens will be ready for advertisers by November 2009
To support the release of Jodie Picoult’s, ‘Handle With Care’ novel, publisher Hodder booked a one day digital campaign utilising the Piccadilly Circus strip and screens on rail station concourses.
Avanti Screen Media have installed their first portrait shopping mall screens. The double sided, 57″ HD units are located at the Gloucester Quays mall and one face is dedicated to providing consumers with a touch screen mall information facility. If successful it may be that Avanti convert other locations in their estate from landscape to portrait. Other media owners with portrait mall screens include CBS, Clear Channel & Titan.
Panasonic’s new advanced Blu-Ray/PVR/ Satellite Receiver was promoted using both digital & traditional out of home including high impact premium digital sites at Westfield London, Canary Wharf (outside Reuters) & on the London Underground.
One of our previous research projects demonstrated that 79% of those surveyed thought that using digital screens made the advertised brands seem forward thinking.
