Ocean Outdoor have launched a new digital site in London called The Eastern Motion.
The site faces three lanes of traffic on the busy main arterial route out of the city of London, heading east on the A13. The tower’s prime location targets motorists on the wealth corridor to Essex and people travelling to both Stansted and London City Airports via this key connecting route.
LDC Capital, the venture capital arm of Lloyds Banking Group has backed a £35 million buyout of Ocean Outdoor.
LDC’s investment secures Ocean Outdoor’s independence and provides the company with the resource to continue to develop its leading position in the iconic, large-format digital and banner outdoor advertising market.
LDC’s backing will allow Ocean to further expand in London, its strongest market, strengthen its coverage across the UK’s top ten cities and accelerate its focus on improving the interactivity of its digital sites with smart phones to improve consumer experience and revenues.
Primesight is launching two new digital sites on the Elephant and Castle roundabout. The head-on digital 96 (screen size 11.43m x 2.94m) and the LED portrait (screen size 4.08m x 5.88m) will be available for the 2nd April incharge. The loop on both sites is 40 seconds (4 x 10 second slots).
Outdoor Plus is planning to launch its new City of London Gateway site on the 16th April. The screen, measuring 13.5m x 3.5m, will consist of a 40 second loop (4 x 10 second slots) and is positioned on Middlesex Street E1 facing 4 lanes of traffic. The site will be broadband enabled. 
Thomson Reuters has appointed Ocean Outdoor to manage the sales and marketing contract for its digital screen located at Canary Wharf, London.
With an AB audience of 1.37m per fortnight, the Canary Wharf screen is regarded as a prestigious DOOH location, offering advertisers access to the lucrative City audience that occupies the 14 million square feet of office and premium retail space in the vicinity.
The screen will play a significant role during the Olympics when Canary Wharf becomes a major cultural and social hub during the period of the 2012 Games and Paralympics.
Primesight have secured the sales and marketing agreement for advertising on 2,700 digital till screens in 1,270 Martin McColl stores nationwide. There is also the opportunity to measure campaign effectiveness using EPOS data.
A fantastic opportunity is launching tomorrow as one of the only out-of-home advertising opportunities within the square mile.
Renew have installed a network of digital screens throughout the square mile targeting City professionals. 200 screens are being deployed in strategic positions throughout the City, with an average of 15,500 people passing each screen each day.

Manchester’s Mancunian Way has had a roadside upgrade with the recent switching-on of a 3m x 12m screen named the Manchester Digital Bridge and erected over the top of the motorway at the Chester Road Underpass. The opportunity is sold by Mediaco and featured Jimmy Choo and BT on the screen as one of the first advertisers.
The Exhibit bar in Balham has unveiled the world’s first urinals to feature hands-free video games controlled exclusively by visitors’ streams.
Captive Media will roll-out the product across selected bars from early 2012.
