Ocean Outdoor has upgraded its landmark Westfield Point location, the UK’s only digital tri-screen, with the latest LED technology.
The upgrade offers superior uniformity of colour and clarity and enhances the immediacy of remote creative uploading, utilising the latest in content management. Power consumption levels across each section of the screen meanwhile have been reduced.
New commercial buildings and environments are often designed so that digital-out-of-home fits in with the surrounding architecture. Recent examples include both Heathrow T5 and Westfield.
The video link below shows an artist impression of the new space. The business district will consist of offices, retail, leisure, hotels, new homes and community facilities. There are some great digital sites in the video, which in total will make up a network of 200 x LCD Panels and 8 large format digital sites.

This month, The Executive Channel have launched a network of HD portrait LCDs in key London offices. The network consists of digital screens placed in the lift lobby areas of major London office buildings, communicating with an AB profile audience. The screens range from 32” to 55” in size and are either free standing or wall-mounted above lift call buttons. All screens are the latest in LED technology and provide the opportunity to run campaigns using flash or video files, in a portrait format with no sound.
As of January 2011, Executive Channel has established a network of over 40 major London office buildings, reaching in excess of over 140,000 people across a two week period. The screens provide a dynamic content mix of live news/travel, local information and advertising to ensure relevance, high attention factors and recall.
In October, Primesight launched a network of digital screens on the Glasgow underground. Since its launch, the network has successfully sold out during its first 3 periods with clients including Nestle, B&Q, Virgin Active and Warner Music with a campaign for Biffy Clyro.
Currently, the network consists of 11 x 55″ portrait HD LCD screens across their 5 highest footfall stations in the City Centre and West End. The network also has 3G and Wifi capabilities which allow potential interaction with mobile phones to the content on screen.
City Gateway are to launch a new roadside digital 96 sheet in Birmingham. Content will be running on the screen as a test from the middle of December. The first campaign period will be the 3rd January.
The site will be running static copy and is housed on a structure alongside two backlit 48 sheets, also sold by City Gateway.
